A foreign language learner may encounter a number of difficulties if they develop
to keep learning foreign languages, especially English. Increasing one's
vocabulary is among the most crucial things one can do when learning to master
writing ability. "Vocabulary.com" is an English-language online resource that has
great potential for helping students learn vocabulary and develop their writing
abilities. According to the conditions, in the academic year 2023/2024, the
researcher uses "Vocabulary.com" as a teaching medium to enhance the writing
abilities of English students in the twelfth grade at SMA Negeri 10 Semarang.
Using quasi-experimental method, the researcher applies "Vocabulary.com" in
the teaching process to increase students’ vocabulary mastery that really helps
them to improve their writing ability. The results show that the use of
"Vocabulary.com" as teaching media in the classroom really improve the
students’ writing skill. In order to assess the efficacy and influence of the media
"Vocabulary.com" on writing lessons, the research tried to figure out the writing
improvements, effects of the media, differences that occur, and students'
perceptions from study methods. The researcher hopes that this study will benefit
all high school students and teachers by providing an alternative, entertaining, and
engaging approach to teaching and learning English. The researcher hopes that
