This research is to find out whether any significant difference writing abilities
of the eighth-grade students of MTs Al-Ma’arif Gembong Pati taught using
animation movies complemented with group discussion and and those taught
using animation movies without group discussion. In this research, quantitative
was applied to analyze data, includes a control class and experimental class in
eighth grade students of MTs Al-Ma’arif Gembong Pati 2022. Quantitative
research that requires the researcher to determine the significant relationship
between the independent variable and the dependent variable. In this study, the
researcher attended two classes: one was an experimental class taught by using
animation movies complemented with group discussion, and the other was a
control class taught using animation movies without group discussion. In this
research using statistics for analyze data statistical formulas, specifially SPSS.
The results showed that (1)Writing ability of the students taught using
animation movies complemented with group discussion showed that mean
score of pretest was 60,00 (Poor Level) and post test was 86,00 (Good Level)
and then (2) Writing ability of the students taught using animation movies
without group discussion showed that was means score of pretest was 48,00 (
Very Poor Level) and mean score of post test was 70,00 (Fair level) and (3)
Difference of Writing ability in narrative text taught using animation movies
complemented with group discussion and taught without group discussion .The
results of the t-test demonstrate this. The t-test results show that the hypothesis
t-test score is higher than the t-table score of 8,682 > 1,999, the alternative
hypothesis (Ha) is accepted/ There was a significant difference in writing skill
between the eighth grade students of MTs AL-Ma’arif Gembong Pati who
were taught using animation movies complemented with group discussion and
those taught using animation movies without group discussion in narrative text.
