2019. Thesis : Students‟ Difficulties in Using Subordinate Conjunction „Because,
Although and As‟ case of Second Grade Students of SMP N 2 Juwangi Boyolali
in 2019.
Through this research, the researcher wants to know the kinds of
difficulties that is done by the second grade students in using subordinate
conjunction case of SMP N 2 Juwangi Boyolali. It is based on the consideration
that the students do not have good competence in using subordinate conjunction.
The main problem by the researcher is : what kinds of difficulties are
mostly done by the second grade students of SMP N 2 Juwangi Boyolali in using
subordinate conjunction ?.
This research is carried out to answer the problem above by the researcher.
The researcher chooses the topic of subordinate conjunction because very
important for students to understand how to use the subordinate conjunctions in
the good sentences. This research was carried out by the researcher to 25 students
as sample which was taken from 85 students of the whole population. The
researcher uses proportional random sampling to get data. The result of this
research will be very useful for the teacher to get the best solution for overcoming
the problem.
In collecting the data the researcher used essay test. It consists of thirty
items which ask the students to choose the right answer, they are because,
although and as. In analysing the data, the researcher used the percentage
procedure.
From this research, the researcher sees that the second grade students of
SMP N 2 Juwangi have not mastered and understood subordinate conjunctions. It
can be seen from the percentage of the student‟s error in using subordinate
conjunction because 29.375 %, in using subordinate conjunction although 30 %,
in using subordinate conjunction as 40.625%. Kinds of difficulties mostly done in
using subordinate conjunction by the second grade students of SMP N 2 Juwangi
Boyolali in 2019 are respectively because, although and as
