This research is designed due to a consideration that pronunciation has
always been the most challenging skill faced by the students and the media
being used is very important in learning activity. This final project is showing
the use of movie as a media in teaching pronunciation to the students of MA
Darussalam Subah. The objectives of this final project are: 1) to find out the
students‟ pronunciation before they were taught by using movie as a media,
2) to find out the students‟ pronunciation after they were taught by using
movie as a media, and 3) to find out whether or not there is significant
difference of the students‟ pronunciation before and after they were taught
using movie as a media. The population of this research was the tenth grade
students of MA Darussalam Subah in academic year 2019/2020. There were
four classes and one class was taken as the sample of the research. The class
was X.MS.1 which consist of 36 students.
Therefore, the researcher gave pre-test to the students, then gave them the
treatment for three meetings, and the last the researcher gave the students a
post-test. The design of this research was pre-experimental research and the
instrument of this research was oral test. The result of the test was showed
that the mean score of pre-test is 61,28 whereas the result of the post-test is
86,78.Based on the result above, the mean of post-test was higher than the
mean of pre-test. So, it can be categorized in a good level. Furthermore, the t-
test is higher than t-table, it was 14,49 ˃ 1,690. It means that there is
significant difference of students‟ pronunciation before and after they were
taught using movie as a media. From the result of the research can be
concluded that using movie as a media in teaching pronunciation can improve
students‟ pronunciation.
