ANALISIS PROSES PENDAFTARAN CALON ANGGOTA DEWAN PERWAKILAN RAKYAT DAERAH KOTA SEMARANG PADA PEMILIHAN UMUM TAHUN 2024

This research is based on the implementation of the democratic system in
Indonesia, one of which is elections, where the teaching of democratic values and
principles uses Pancasila and Citizenship Education subjects. Based on the results
of observations at the Semarang City General Election Commission which shows
that there is still a list of names of candidates for members of the Semarang City
Regional People's Representative Council who are deemed not to have met the
administrative requirements so that documents need to be revised, and there are
changes to the data of prospective candidates that occurred on the day Lastly, the
process in the Nomination Information System tends to be rushed and there are still
input errors. The formulation of the problem in this research is the process of
registering candidates for members of the Semarang City Regional People's
Representative Council in the 2024 General Election.
The type of research used is qualitative with descriptive methods. With the
following sub-focuses: 1) Registration process for candidates for members of the
Semarang City Regional People's Representative Council. 2) General Election in
Semarang City. The methods used to collect data are interviews, observation and
documentation. The validity of this research data is the source triangulation
technique. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, presentation
and conclusions.
The research results show that the Semarang City General Election
Commissions carries out the registration process for prospective members of the
Regional People's Representative Council Semarang City in accordance with the
regulations and standards set by the General Election Commissions of the Republic
of Indonesia with the help of the nomination system. Even though the process has
been prepared as fully as possible, there are various obstacles in it, namely the tight
registration time, assigning political party shoe numbers, naming women's
representatives in Regional People's Representative Council nominations, and
giving aliases. The General Election in the City of Semarang has been held by the
Semarang City General Election Commissions in accordance with the direct,
public, free, secret, honest, and fair principle with the determination of
implementation in accordance with the objectives, regulations and standards for
holding the 2024 election. This can be seen from the implementation of the election
which has implemented a national, permanent and independent nature.
