This research was conducted to find out the effect of using Hello English
Application to improve students ability in mastering english vocabulary.
Hello English application is a media that can increase the student‟s interest
in learning and then it will give an effect on student learning outcomes.
The purpose of this study was to determine the significant differences in
students vocabulary between students who were taught using Hello
English application and those who were not taught using Hello English
application. This study used quantitative research with a quasi�experimental research design. The population of this research was the
tenth grade students at SMAN 1 Mayong, The sample of the research was
72 students which consists of class X 7 and X 9.
Based on the results of data analysis, the writer concluded that the use of
Hello English application can increase student‟s vocabulary mastery it‟s
proved by the mean score of the students in pretest and post-test. The
result of the research shows that Hello English application significantly
increased students‟ vocabulary mastery after did the treatment. The mean
score of students from experimental class improved from 73 in pre-test to
91 in post-test. And the mean score of control class from 74 in pre-test to
79 in post-test. Its means that the average value of students in the
experimental class was higher than the mean value in the control class. It
indicated that the one hypothesis (H1) was accepted and of course, the null
hypothesis (H0) was rejected. it can be concluded that the use of the Hello
English application is effective to enrich students‟ English vocabulary. In
addition, students also look active and enthusiastic in the learning process
by using Hello English as a learning.
